Arrivederci Italia!!!

I haven’t written in a very long time, and this is my last official post! I have finally returned back to the US. Since I last wrote, I was enjoying the last bits of Italy and getting ready to come back to the USA. During my last few weeks abroad, we went to Austria and did everything left to do in Florence, including eating at all of our favorite restaurants and getting gelato everyday. On December 21st, we got on the plane and headed back to NYC. I was so excited to come home and see my family for Christmas […]

When In Rome…

So, the week after fall break was a little bit tough. It was hard getting back into the swing of things, but I did well on all my midterms, which is good. Still, I was so excited to get to Rome this weekend. I absolutely loved Rome! It was amazing. I heard it wasn’t as good as Florence, so I didn’t have extremely high expectations. But I was so pleasantly surprised. It had such a great energy, and there was so much to see and do. On Friday when we arrived, we went to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine […]

Paris, Je t’aime

Ah, Paris. The city of lights! After leaving London, our last stop for fall break was Paris. It was absolutely amazing! Besides the fact that we packed two weeks worth of sightseeing into four days, the trip was somewhat relaxing. We got to see so much of the city and really had a great time. It rained one day, but besides that, the weather was pretty nice. After arriving in Paris from London, we checked into our hotel and had a light lunch. Then we visited Notre Dame and the ruins beneath it. This was one of the most beautiful […]

So, right now, I’m sitting on a train from London to Paris writing this. London was really great. It reminded me of a mixture of American cities. There were so many different kinds of people, and I definitely heard at least 10 languages spoken while I was there. There isn’t really great British food, so we ate lots of different things. One night we had Indian food and another night we had Chinese, among many cheeseburgers we had for lunch. Our hotel was really nice and very close to many things. We were only about four minutes walking distance from […]

Finally! Fall break. We finished midterms last week, and they went well. Our first stop for fall break was Dublin. I went with Gabby and a friend from Syracuse as well as my friend Nicole from Bucknell (we lived across the hall freshmen year!). We left for Milan from Florence on Thursday and flew out of Milan that night. We arrived in Dublin and checked into our hotel. Dublin was amazing!!!! I’m actually moving to Ireland =) So far, besides Italy, Ireland has been my favorite country. On Saturday we went on a tour of the countryside around Dublin. It […]

Lean with it, Pose with it!

This weekend I went to Perugia, a town in the Umbria region of Italy, for the International Chocolate Festival and Pisa and Lucca on Saturday with my art history class. Perugia was absolutely beautiful, and the chocolate was amazing! We got tons of free samples of truffles and hot chocolate and plenty of other things. We also had chocolate kabobs that were amazing. They were pound cake in the shape of a wrap with caramel and chocolate shavings in the middle. On Saturday, I went with my art history class to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Cathedral […]

A little bit of sun…

So last weekend, I went to Siena and San Gimignano and Cinque Terre. Cinque Terre is the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen in the world, and the weather was absolutely beautiful. A few Bucknellians and I hiked the trails and had a great lunch. The water was crystal clear, but not very warm, so we didn’t go swimming. Last week was very busy, and I had a lot of schoolwork. On Friday, we took a train to Bologna in the morning. We spent a little bit of time walking around and got lunch. I had tortellini, which is the […]

Guten Tag Munich!

So it’s been a little while since I’ve updated, and I’ve gone on some amazing trips since last time!!! Two weekends ago, we went to Assisi on Friday and Ravenna on Saturday. Assisi was so beautiful. It’s perched high up on a mountain in the Umbria region of Italy. We visited the church of San Francesco (St. Francis of Assisi) and also got to see his tomb. The church was beautiful and had amazing frescoes of the life of San Francesco. We went to lunch and had pizza, of course! On Saturday, we visited Ravenna, which is a little bit […]

We’ll Always Have Pizza

The first week of school has been great! I think I’ve had pizza like 10 times, but actually. On Tuesday, I had my first photography class which I LOVE! We’re learning all about digital photography and the transition from traditional cameras to digital. On Tuesday night, we took a walk by the Duomo. This week has still been a little hectic because classes are just starting and we’re learning the city more and more. On Wednesday, our art history class was meeting at the Palazzo Vecchio near the Uffizi Gallery. Gabby (one of my fellow Bucknellians) and I walked […]
