Scotland and sheep

I can’t believe how quickly time passes over here.  We have so much to do and see all of the time that the weeks just keep slipping by.  I can’t believe it is almost October! Since I last wrote about my adventures in Bath, Salisbury, and Stonehenge, I have had many more experiences in London and our group traveled to Scotland for five days. A few weeks ago, I spent a day taking a tour of London on an open air double-decker bus.  It was a lot of fun, but I would have enjoyed it more had I done it […]

Coming home to London

It was on my trip to Bath and Salisbury that I realized that London really is starting to feel like home!  Not only have several people on the program started calling our flats in London home, when we got back from our weekend trip I think many of us had a “home sweet home” feeling of relief.  Anyways, I have a lot of exciting adventures to report.  We have a jam-packed schedule and we have done so many things, so I am going to take you through some of the highlights: We went to Bath for two days.  It was […]

A jaunt to Bath, Stonehenge and Salisbury

Life in London has been going well.  I am definitely used to living here now and it feels like I have been living here for a lot longer than three weeks.  I am adjusted to my class schedule and know when I need to get my work done, although, luckily, there has been plenty of time for fun and exploring, too.  We have been going on tons of walking tours with our classes and I feel lucky that we are utilizing this great city as our classroom.  Because of all of our walking tours, I can say that I have […]

Really, is this school?

I am finally in London! I have been here for 11 days now and I have done so many things I don’t even know where to start.  First off, my friend, Amber Kern, is also a study abroad blogger and we are both in the same program.  We are going to try and not talk about the same things, so take a look at her blog, too, to get the full scoop! Classes have already started, but it still feels like I am on vacation in London.  I can’t wait for it to start feeling like home.  The coolest part […]

Exploring London

Cheerio! I can’t believe I have now been in London for over a week!  Getting accustomed to living here has been a big change for me, but I am really enjoying being here.  I can now navigate my way around the neighborhood we live in without the aid of a map! After arriving here last Thursday, at 8 a.m. London time, everyone was exhausted, but we were told to stay up until 9 p.m.  A full day of orientation events was planned for us because they did not want us to fall asleep and succumb to jet lag.  After getting […]

Countdown to London

I cannot fathom the fact that in one week from now I will be experiencing my first day in London.  I don’t think it has sunk in yet that I am going there for an entire semester, not just a short visit.  I am really excited though and I know it will be an incredible experience.  I will be studying there as part of the Bucknell in London program, entitled “Pillars of a Global City” this semester.  We will be focusing on sustainability and urban planning and using the upcoming 2012 Olympics (which are being held in London) as a […]
